On Mondays your child will receive their homework packet for the week. The homework packet is not due until Friday. On the cover sheet there will be an explanation of what to complete for each day of the week. There will always be two math worksheets and two language arts worksheets. The math homework will also have a challenge side that is optional. Have your child try to complete the challenge. If it is too difficult do not have your child complete it.
The homework packet will be checked for completion, not for accuracy. I do expect students to put their best effort forth when completing their homework. | |

Your children will be asked to read for 10 minutes everyday except on Fridays. Please initial on the corresponding line on the weekly reading log in the homework binder so that I know your child read. This log will be checked daily.
After reading testing is completed students will begin to receive small group reading instruction. As we finish the books in reading groups they will be sent home. These books are great for your child to practice reading independently. Make sure that books that are sent home are returned to school. Damaged or lost books cost $6.00 to replace. |
