Jan. 6, 2012
Dear Parents,
It's the start of a new year! I hope you all had a restful break and a wonderful holiday. In the month of January there are many important events occuring in first grade. On Monday Jan 9th- Feb 3rd the winter reading assessment benchmark will be given. I will be individually testing each student's reading abilities. Please make sure your child comes to school and refrain from scheduling any doctor's appointments. The end of the second marking period is approaching fast as well. Report cards will go home during the first week of February. Please look for the envelope in your child's homework binder.
This week I sent home a permission slip requesting permission to take photos and post them on DonorsChoose.org. Back in October I requested for money to be donated to our classroom to purchase materials for reading and math independent centers. Various people from all over the country donated money and the project was fully funded in December! We are in the process of writing thank you letters to the donors and show them pictures of us using the materials. Your child's name will not be given nor will the address or classroom of the school. If you give permission for having your child's photo posted online please sign and return the blue permission slip as soon as possible!
Thank you,
Ms. Allison Paul
